Phoenicia-
Kevin James Frasier, known affectionately as Kev to his friends and family, passed away on March 17, 2024, due to chronic critical cardiac issues. Born on October 21, 1963, in Kingston, Kevin was a native and lifelong resident of the Catskill Mountains, an area his family has called home for generations. He departed this world in Phoenicia, surrounded by the natural beauty he so cherished throughout his life.
Kevin was the beloved son of the late James and Velma Gray Frasier. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Alisha Frasier, and his son, Kevin J. Frasier. He is also survived by his caring sister, Debbie Dykeman, and his brother, Alan Frasier. Grandchildren: Jordan Frasier, Ryan and Zachary Demers, along with several cousins who will miss his presence dearly, and his bonus family Debbie Diviak, Spencer, Emma, and Blair. Kevin was proud of his daughter, who has been drug-free and abstinent going on six years,
A skilled carpenter and painter by trade, Kevin's handiwork was a testament to his meticulous attention to detail and his dedication to his craft. His work contributed to the beauty and upkeep of the community he loved so much. Kevin's professional life was marked by the same integrity and commitment that he brought to every aspect of his existence.
Kevin's passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. An avid sportsman, he found solace and joy in the pursuit of both big and small game. His love for fishing was unparalleled, whether he was casting a line in a flowing stream or drilling a hole for ice fishing in the dead of winter. These moments in nature were not just hobbies for Kevin; they were an integral part of his identity.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Kevin will remember him as a kind-hearted soul, always willing to lend a hand. His involvement in the "Coffee Club" at the local market was more than a pastime; it was an opportunity for him to connect with his neighbors, share stories, and offer his help wherever it was needed. Kevin's selfless nature was a beacon of light that strengthened the fabric of the community.
Kevin's character was the epitome of kindness, honesty, and care. He possessed a special smile and a twinkle in his eyes that could brighten even the darkest of days. His reputation as a hard worker was matched only by his reputation as a friend who would go to great lengths for those he cared about. The love he received from the community was a reflection of the love he gave.
To say Kevin will be missed is an understatement. He was a friend that will truly be missed, a presence that can never be replaced. His legacy will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him, in the structures he built and painted, and in the natural world he so deeply respected.
Kevin's life was a testament to the power of selflessness and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. As we say goodbye to Kevin James Frasier, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with profound gratitude for the time we shared with him. His spirit will continue to inspire us, just as the mountains he loved stand steadfast in the landscape he called home.
